Company Profile

RAP Distribution Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Roland Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd) was established in December 2004. We are the sole distributor for the Roland and Boss brand of musical instruments and accessories in Malaysia. The company started out as a joint venture between Roland Corporation of Japan and managing director, Dennis Tan. Currently RAP remains the sole distributor for Roland in Malaysia and is fully owned by him. In addition to that, RAP is now also the local distributor for Kemper Amps and AlphaDrumworks drum accessories.

The company has a network of about a hundred dealers throughout Malaysia. RAP is focused on distribution, marketing of the brand and supporting its dealers and end users. We conduct product sales trainings to dealers, roadshow events, instrument clinics and workshops, collaboration effort with artists or music education institutions. The Roland brand covers a wide scope of products ranging from digital pianos, synthesizers, electronic drums, guitar effects and amps, DJ production tools and Roland pro AV equipment for broadcast industries.

Head Office

RAP’s head office is located in the city of Petaling Jaya. This is about 30 minutes away from the capitol city of Malaysia, which is Kuala Lumpur. The office is equipped with a flagship showroom for Roland, Boss and Roland Pro AV products, an event space for internal shows and workshops, a service centre for after sales support, and warehousing facility. It is also a place where end users can come by to seek product training by appointment.

Our focus has always been on distribution and support. This is in line with Roland’s global distributor policy to not be in competition with our own network of dealer retail stores. 

Direct Store

As of November 2016, RAP Distribution Sdn Bhd has establish a new direct store called Music Zon located in 3 Damansara (formerly Tropicana City Mall) in Petaling Jaya. The outlet is mainly focused as a music school with a showroom to showcase mostly our range of digital pianos, electronic drums, some guitars and accessories.
